VIA OpenBook Mini-Note Platform 9 inches
The VIA OpenBook is a computer 9 inches, with a design perhaps something simple but far better than some other ultraportátiles. With a gray finish, has two integrated cameras (one on top of the screen and in another part of the casing) and a keyboard rather small, and in my opinion somewhat awkward to use (though I must also say that my manazas are somewhat large) .

The unity that we could try mounting a VIA C7-M processor under Windows XP that was moving quite well throughout the system, and with which we view a part of a video file with fairly decent quality, always bearing in mind that resolution does not even reach the 600 pixels (the files were recognized to adapt to this resolution). His three-cell battery offered a total autonomy, giving an average use of about three or four hours.
The computer is very small compared with conventional laptops, 13 or 15.4 inches, and weight walks by the average (nearly kilogram). The design already commented earlier that neither is the worst nor the best, and the few minutes we could test the device, his performance seemed quite acceptable, although we could not try it in games.
I have already said that the unity that we played mount a Via C7-M. VIA intends to provide manufacturers with OpenBook processors VIA Nano, presumably models’ U ‘low consumption (up to 8 watts TDP) to maximize battery. It commented that the Nano has returned more than double the C7-M, thus mixing OpenBook + Nano could be a rival to the very height of that other ultraportátiles mount an Intel Atom.
The estimated price of this VIA OpenBook is about 300 or 400 euros, not dollars, depending always on the ‘extras’ that the manufacturer wants to add. Its market launch date has not yet been identified, but given that VIA Nano will be presented on October or November, possibly longer have to wait to 2009 to see the OpenBook in the market.
