The new iMacs 3.06 GHz processors, pulling overclocking

The new speeds of 3.06 GHz processors integrated into the new iMacs are not due to the fact that these machines make use of the new Centrino 2 platform. In fact, they are forced buses to reach these frequencies, with a bus also at higher speeds.
While some felt that the newly submitted iMacs were described as “next generation”, the truth is that the buses are still included belonging to the generation that already possessed, but in the case of the model to 3.06 GHz is nothing more than a processor adapted to the increased frequency of the FSB, which goes from 800MHz to 1,066 MHz.
The chip these iMacs have a TDP of 55W, the fair for a concept of ‘portable desktop’, or what is the same, portable machines theoretically but in fact have characteristics closer to a desktop PC, for example screens of 17 or 20 inches. The generation of Centrino 2 buses will use a TDP of 25 or 35W maximum, which confirms the fact that these new iMacs are nothing more than a twist of previous models.
