Samsung now have the hard drive Samsung N3U, with a size of only 1.8 inches, and up to 250 GB. Specifically the model is HS250JI.

It is quite likely to have PATA connection, quite usual for this size of hard drives as it is used in media players and ultra models. There is also an integrated USB controller, which manufacturers could develop external hard drives in sizes small, even smaller than a credit card.

Samsung N3U prices are $ 200 for 250 GB disk, but it seems that they are directly from factory and if they reach the market could be somewhat higher.
