New AMD Phenom X3 Black Edition 8750, 8450e and 8250e

AMD has recently introduced three new processors from AMD Phenom family X3, which as its name suggests are somewhat different from what we usually see, and is incorporating three nodes instead of two or four most common.

The processors are AMD Phenom X3 Black Edition 8750, the most powerful and led to more advanced users, as well as the AMD Phenom X3 8450e and 8250e that are more generic but with which AMD seeks to strike a balance between performance and low power consumption.

Let’s delve a little more in the AMD Phenom X3 Black Edition 8750. The range Black Edition is the equivalent of Extreme processors from Intel, but AMD. I have not yet found a few benchmarks on the Black Edition, but there are several sites that analyze the AMD Phenom X3 generic 8750 (which has the same characteristics as the Black Edition), which has a multiplier locked. For example in Digit-Life make a fairly complete analysis and compare with other high-end processors, both as two of four cores, as the Q6600 Intel or AMD Phenom X4 9850, among others. The results are quite unfavourable for the X3 8750, remains in last position in all tests except one.

With these tests in hand, although the Black Edition improve some aspects with a small overclock the frequency, we can put the new AMD processor as an alternative to Intel processors mid-range and high, but certainly that is not the most powerful AMD has on the market. It’s something different, with three cores instead of four and surely the most affordable Black Edition processor AMD, and to remind ourselves that the BE is the height of their catalogue.

The other two processors, AMD Phenom X3 8450e and 8250e are also three cores and with frequencies of 2.1 and 1.9 GHz., Also at 65 nanometers and with TDP of 65 watts, 30 below the 8450 and 8250. Among the catalogue of AMD processors in three four cores, 8450e and 8250e are the lowest consumption, but we must also stress that there are other Phenom X2 with lower consumption (about 45 watts TDP).

Both the 8450e as the 8250e are aimed at users means. At first glance one might say that his performance will exceed that of most processors that are being sold now, but will be close to the output was comparable with the most powerful market. They are a mid-range, interesting for people who want to combine the most general tasks and also some power in video games.
