Toshiba unveiled its new notebooks at CES 2010, with more or less than expected, update or refurbished hardware design, but each one stands above the rest, we talked about the Toshiba Satellite E205.

As you can read in the headline of the story, this is the first laptop to use wireless Display (WiDi) technology from Intel, it can display any multimedia file from our team on television, or if you wanted to play a YouTube video in high definition she could do it.

Ultimately the technology allows us to connect wirelessly with other equipment, and it serves as a third component is at stake, a small device made by Netgear that connects to the screen via HDMI and acts as a wireless receiver.

This receiver will retail for $ 100 and works only with computers with Intel Core i3 or i5, which is the case, as the Toshiba Satellite E205 has a Core i5-430M.

Other important specifications of the notebook is its 14-inch (LED), has a backlit keyboard, and the requisite HDMI connector, other aspects that differ according to their settings are or 4GB of RAM 500GB hard drive. The chosen operating system is Windows 7 and be in North American stores later this month of January at a price of $ 999.

Speaking of Widi technology itself, we could say that there is no particular novelty in this set of devices for streaming on a screen, but in practice people Toshiba and Intel argue that there is no easier way to do that with your configuration at the same time, you are guaranteed excellent quality.

The Toshiba NB305 is a successor of NB205 with great quality was a success from the standpoint of public and expert analysis.

The design is almost the same, and I see no problem there, if it has improved the integration of 6-cell battery, which protrudes less than the previous model. The main innovation comes from the new processors Pinetrail, in this case we have chosen an Intel Atom N450 1.66 GHz.

With the 6 cell battery above the Toshiba NB305 has a range of 11 hours, and given that the previous model really came to nine hours of use, may not be an outlandish figure. Autonomy is certainly one of its virtues.

Another thing I like about this netbook is its Chiclet keyboard, with keys well spaced and metallic finish also continues accompanied by a generously sized trackpad multi-touch and possibilities. There is a cheaper version with a conventional keyboard in black tone.

Let the rest of specifications:

Graphics Acceleration by an integrated Intel 3150

10.1-inch screen, resolution: 1024 × 600 pixels, LED technology.

1 GB of RAM

250 GB storage

Connectivity 802.11b/g/n WiFi and 10/100 Ethernet

Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR

Hard Drive: 250GB

3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 VGA, headphone and microphone, SD card reader and a 0.3-megapixel webcam

Dimensions: 26.6 cm x 19.2 cm x 2.4 cm

Weight: 1.18 kg

I can not forget to mention that with Windows 7 Starter Edition operating system and have relocated the leds information at the bottom of the keyboard, making them more visible.

We hope to hear more of him in the upcoming CES in Las Vegas and will be available in three colors, blue, brown and white. The price of this Toshiba NB305 in the U.S. is $400 for the version with the keyboard with a metallic finish and $350 with the conventional keypad.

The new Toshiba Qosmio G50, FX and GX are focused on the aspect of new media and the players. Great size, weight and price.

Toshiba Qosmio G50 laptop equipped with Core 2 Duo processor at 2.4 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics, hard drives of 320 GB. The model has a bigger screen size of 18.4 inches, with resolution 1680 × 945, meintras the leading 15.4-inch screen will have to conform with 1280 x 800 pixels.

With its connectivity we will not have a problem. N-type incorporates WiFi, 4 USB ports (one of whom serves as eSATA) and HDMI. Also bear in 1.3 megapixel webcam.

Personally I am much more interested in the multimedia model, the Toshiba Qosmio G50, with a 18.4-inch widescreen display and FullHD resolution (1920 x 1080). What striking aspect of this computer is its graphical SpursEngine, based on the Cell processor that incorporates the latest generation console PlayStation 3.

The hard disk of this multimedia notebook of up to 570 GB (320 +250), and its price starts at $ 3,000 beyond the reach of most.

Toshiba also launches a netbook, which is called Toshiba Satellite NB105, lies within its Satellite line.

This model does not enjoy features that surprised, though its design is something pleasant, as seen in the picture.

Let’s review their specifications:

Intel Atom 1.6 GHz

OS: Windows XP

If 3.5 inches are aimed at desktop and a notebook of 2.5, Toshiba 1.8-inch discs are often used mainly in portable devices such as MP3 players, but also some laptops.

Toshiba recently announced it will begin to manufacture 1.8-inch discs drive and 240 GB of capacity, about one-fourth of the capacity that we can find a 3.5-inch discs. The MK2431GAH would be focused on its use in MP3 players or camcorders with internal hard drive, which currently have much smaller capacities in the range of 60 GB the most. In the case of an MP3 hard drive with 1.8-inch internal, the best and most famous example is the iPod Classic, last updated using a Toshiba 120 GB hard with characteristics similar to that of 240 GB, but with a disc instead two.

The speed is 4,200 rpm, which will provide performance data much smaller than a record of 7,200 rpm. In turn, small discs like this are the ones who suffer most are the arrival of the SSD, which possibly will be replaced in the medium term. They are still safe, since the magnetic hard disks are much cheaper than the SSD, but since a SSD pays something better than a traditional hard drive in 7200 rpm and 3.5 inches, 1.8 inches at 4,200 rpm and the difference in favor of solid-state disks should be even higher.

These models include various technologies, Toshiba EasyGuard which they have will enable us to work peacefully, without fear that by some oversight, we lose something as valuable as our laptop.

Among the characteristics of these products include:

Intel Centrino 2, with vPro technology, which provides greater autonomy and better speeds in wireless connectivity

Protection of hard disk, keyboard resistant to water spills, SmartCard reader, fingerprint reader and TPM

Webcam integrated with business card reader

Combined Esat / USB 2.0 port

Possibility to buy with solid-state disk (SSD) of 64 or 128GB

So far, only the Toshiba Tecra M10 is priceless, this being about 1399 dollars.

As for the Toshiba Tecra A10, we will have to wait to find out how much it will cost once launched on the market… what will happen just for the month of August of this year (missing only a few days…).
