Despite a long hiatus, Lenovo is betting on mobile telephony. The Lenovo lephone born by now only for China and specifications very close to the Nexus One, the current fashion mobile.

Lenovo lephone brings a 3.7-inch display, capacitive touch but not OLED with 800 x 480 pixel resolution and moved by the same mobile Snapdragon Google. The system is Android and of course we will have A-GPS, WiFi and a 3 megapixel camera.

Indeed it is not as potent as the Nexus One, but it’s close enough. Unfortunately the screen is OLED (although it is capacitive and has the same resolution) and the system is Android 1.6 (not 2.1 as the Google model), but depending on the price that had would be really interesting, especially if we consider the professional cutting device Lenovo itself (partly owned by IBM) has designed in recent years.

Very interesting concept from Lenovo proposed with the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid, a risky while versatile solution that offers a hybrid notebook and tablet in every way.

And I say in every way because the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid offers a computer screen 11.6 inch LED that has a double configuration of hardware and software. On the one hand, we can use the laptop itself, inserting on the computer screen and work with Windows 7 and an Intel Core 2 Duo U4100, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD or, and here is new, use Skylight as tablet working with Linux and a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and 16GB flash storage.

About weight and autonomy, the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid will give us 725 grs. weight and 8 hours if we use as tablet, whereas if we use it as we stay in laptop battery for 6 hours to be set up to 1.72 kg weight.

Wireless connections are shared, however, whether we use it as portable as if we use it as a tablet and it does not cut short: 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Finally, this interesting hybrid does not neglect the connections typical of a laptop and offers 3 USB ports (one eSATA / USB), Ethernet (RJ-45), VGA, HDMI, and memory card reader 4 in 1 ( SD, MMC, MS and MSP).

Interesting concept that we intend to Lenovo, but for now, somewhat expensive for our pockets to bring this Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid.

Lenovo has many surprises in store for this CES 2010, and although we have met an interesting background for individuals Thinkpad range, the Skylight smartbook certainly cause more sense if it is finally presented at the fair.

For now we have some first pictures and features of the Lenovo Skylight, a new concept that seeks to introduce the Chinese brand but that ultimately seems rather like an ultraportable, but as we will have to highlight interesting differentiating factors. The price for what will determine whether this is a new market player portable vacuum or an attempt to do something different: a team with heart but the body of portable smartphone.

There is no doubt that the design of Lenovo Skylight attention. With rounded forms, we think of portable toy at him.

Skylight Lenovo screen is 10.1 inches with resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels. Looking at the processor that we will find one of the features that make it different on a laptop and moving him closer to the last advanced mobile phones. The Lenovo Skylight is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 1GHz, with memory of 20 GB of flash and microSD card slot.

The connectivity has to be his strong point and therefore does not need WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G, with operational autonomy of 10 hours, which seems little to what we already offer ultraportables of the year. It will come with a custom Linux distribution.

Lenovo today announced a new model to its line of ultraportable IdeaPad, which is basically a version of the IdeaPad S10, focused on the students … and will be marketed as Lenovo IdeaPad S10e.

This model has a quick start system (Quick Start), which is a modification of SplashTop suited for this model.

In terms of features, it has not changed much, as you will see below:

Intel Atom

OS: Windows XP Home / SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop

10.1″ TFT display with resolution of 1024 x 600px

Disk 4GB SSD or 160GB of HDD

WiFi

Ethernet

Bluetooth, optional

At the moment it is not known what price to be launched this model, but at least we know who will be on sale for the month of November (again, focused on educational institutions).

We’ll see if Lenovo is the one who takes these consumers, rather than Asustek will win hand with another product.

Lenovo has renewed its slightly ultraportable, the Lenovo S10, which was formally introduced back in August. Now, the Lenovo S10e maintains the design, size (10.1 inches) and many of the features, but is updated in the following three aspects.

First we have the operating system, previously only available with Windows XP and now also with Suse Linux. Second, storage, and while that with the S10 we could only choose between 80 and 160 GB hard drives, with the S10e there is the possibility of acquiring the laptop with a 4GB SSD. It is a very poor ability but it makes sense when one considers that the Lenovo S10e is directed to the education sector.

And the third aspect is not hardware, but software: QuickStart is the name of an application that allows you to view e-mails, using a web browser, make use of videoconferencing, view photos and listen to music without having to reboot to complete operation. Do not offer details of how this QuickStart, although it is safer to put a little too simple operating system, possibly based on Linux, which loads in a very fast time allowing the user to use the most basic applications.

About the price, other data have also not made public. Bearing in mind that Lenovo S10e is directed to the education sector, and that the S10 ‘original’ had a base price of $ 400, this new version could be somewhat lower, possibly between 300 and 350 dollars.
