Too long without rumor and carried on a new product for Apple. Fortunately, that LG is the brand responsible for supplying the panels of the iMac and that recently were allegedly multitáctiles screens at one of its factories, has allowed re-open the closed season to see what Apple may be preparing for January, for example.

An iMac Multitouch may be one of the options, but personally I do not think that this market is still ready for it. Am I wrong?

As much as Apple wants to apply technology and great user experience on your phone or iPod Touch to an iMac, the utility would remain low. HP is trying its Touchsmart, and even Asus has in mind this type of technology to its desktop, which certainly will expand its size to 20 and 22 inches soon. And in any case we note a clear benefit.

This type of screens that it makes sense for a laptop, but not so much on a desktop. A Media Center or even a TV set could receive it even better. But if we talk about TVs, I insist that the remote would be a differentiating factor certainly.

Or if you just got off the screen of the desktop control touch, as if we had a digitizer, but with technology multitáctil and a copy of the desktop in small, we could start talking.

The new speeds of 3.06 GHz processors integrated into the new iMacs are not due to the fact that these machines make use of the new Centrino 2 platform. In fact, they are forced buses to reach these frequencies, with a bus also at higher speeds.

While some felt that the newly submitted iMacs were described as “next generation”, the truth is that the buses are still included belonging to the generation that already possessed, but in the case of the model to 3.06 GHz is nothing more than a processor adapted to the increased frequency of the FSB, which goes from 800MHz to 1,066 MHz.

The chip these iMacs have a TDP of 55W, the fair for a concept of ‘portable desktop’, or what is the same, portable machines theoretically but in fact have characteristics closer to a desktop PC, for example screens of 17 or 20 inches. The generation of Centrino 2 buses will use a TDP of 25 or 35W maximum, which confirms the fact that these new iMacs are nothing more than a twist of previous models.
