ATi 5000 Series New graphics for notebooks

Today, the first official day of CES, ATi has presented its new graphics for notebooks. They are, as expected, the ATI Mobility 5000 Series and are presented with nine new models.

Highlight the ATI Mobility 5870 and seeded according to ATi being the most powerful mobile graphics for today’s market, reaching up to 1.12 TFLOPS by a 700 MHz core manufactured in 40 nanometer, GDDR5 memory and be compatible with DirectX 11.

Beneath it we have the ATI Mobility 5850 with 0.8-1 TFLOPS, of course, also at 40 nanometers. More generally all new models are:

All of them 40 nanometers, with support for DirectX 11 ATi Eyefinity, HDMI and more.

To these new models also have to add the following two:

That although belonging to the new 5000 Series graphics are nothing more than the previous generation (4000 Series) with some slight changes to be introduced under the new family. In fact only support DX 10.1, for example.

AMD Vision logoTodos expected much of these new ATI graphics for laptops, since we have seen in a computer that sat filtering. In the coming days will be many more who reach this, all manufacturers and most varied prices.

Keep in mind the huge differentiation between the different models ranges. For example, while the 5870 has a capacity of 1.12 TFLOPS, the 5770 “only” has about half (520 GLOPS) and 5470 even less (120 GFLOPS). Of course then depend on each manufacturer choosing graphics card for your model, and depending on that choice the final price of the device will vary greatly. Surely in 5870 we see only the higher-end laptops (Alienware rate for gamers or similar) and the 5430, 5450, 5470 and 5650 as the most widely used.
